
DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that High Point-Thomasville’s Charlie Slabaugh and Carlos Carabello were selected as the TrackMan CPL Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for Week 2 (June 7-13) of the 2026 season.
Slabaugh, a freshman outfielder at Columbia, helped the HiToms offensively with a .474 average, with nine hits, including a double and a triple. He further exhibited a keen eye at the plate, drawing eight walks versus only one strikeout. Slabaugh also scored eight runs and and racked up six RBIs, stole four bags. He finished the week with a .632 slugging percentage, .655 on-base percentage, and 1.287 OPS.
On the bump, Carabello made three appearances for the HiToms, recording a 1.29 ERA and picking up a pair of saves. The 6-1, 205-pound right-hander from Millersville went a total of seven innings, surrendering just one run, earned, on four hits and a league-best 14 strikeouts. He also held opposing batters to a .160 average with a 1.14 WHIP and a K/9 of 18.00.
