HOLLY SPRINGS, NC – The Coastal Plain League is excited to announce the 2023 All-CPL First and Second Teams. Each team features 30 players: one player per each infield position, six designated hitter/utility players, eight outfielders and 11 pitchers (a combination of starters and relievers). Teams were selected with input from CPL head coaches.
The team is highlighted by CPL Hitter of the Year Brandon Eike (Tri-City Chili Peppers) and Pitcher of the Year Trent Harris (Wilson Tobs). Additionally, five of the position players – Nadir Lewis, Michael Dolberry, Cooper Blauser, Josh Pigozzo and John Rittenhouse – were also honored as TrackMan Hitters of the Week during the season, while three pitchers – Hunter Stevens, Logan Wash and Daniel Thompson – were named as TrackMan Pitchers of the Week.
The Peninsula Pilots led the league with seven selections, followed by Lexington County, Morehead City and Forest City each with six. Wilmington and Martinsville followed with five apiece, while Wilson, Macon, Tri-City and High Point-Thomasville had four selections each. Holly Springs was next with three. Meanwhile, Asheboro, Boone and Florence rounded things out with two each.
