2000 MLB Draft


The Coastal Plain League announced that 39 players, both former and players signed for the 2000 season, were drafted in the 2000 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Former Wilmington Shark, Tagg Bozied lead this year’s group of alums. Bozied was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the second round, 42nd overall. The Wilmington Sharks had the largest number of former players drafted with nine. This year’s draft far exceeded last year’s total of 24 and 1998’s total of 12.
