The Coastal Plain League announced today that Angel Zarate of High Point-Thomasville was named Hitter of the Week, while Dustin Saenz of Savannah earned Pitcher of the Week honors for week four of the CPL regular season (June 23 – June 29.) CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.

Joining the HiToms late after North Carolina’s postseason run, Zarate hit .429 across seven games and 28 at-bats. In total the redshirt-freshman outfielder notched 12 hits while driving in seven with five doubles and one home run that reached 456 feet per Trackman Baseball data. He also managed an impressive .712 slugging percentage to go along with a .448 on-base percentage and five runs scored on the week.

On the mound, Saenz made two appearances for the Bananas in week four, not allowing a run in either and striking out 18 across 11 total innings pitched. His first start came versus the Macon Bacon on June 23 going five shut-out innings, giving up only one hit, walking one and striking out seven for the win. The Texas A&M sophomore followed that up with a start against the Lexington County Blowfish on June 29 in which he tossed six additional shut-out innings with four hits allowed and 11 strikeouts pushing is K/9 to 14.73 and WHIP to 0.55 for the week.
