The Coastal Plain League announced today that Christian Easley of the Martinsville Mustangs was named Hitter of the Week, while Tom Chmielenski of the Forest City Owls earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the third week of the CPL regular season (June 14 – June 20.) CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.

Easley, a junior at Maryland Baltimore County, led the league in batting average in week three with a blistering .571 average across 21 at-bats and six games played. In total he finished with two doubles, one home run and five RBIs while also scoring six runs. The outfielder also drew three walks and stole three bases to finish with a .625 on-base percentage to go along with a 1.435 OPS and .810 slugging.

On the mound, Chmielenski was dominant from start to finish, tossing a nine-inning complete game shutout on June 19 versus the Martinsville Mustangs. The Princeton freshman earned the win, allowing only three hits and two walks while striking out eight. His start was the first complete game of the summer in the CPL as he held a .103 batting average against and .56 WHIP.
