HOLLY SPRINGS – The Coastal Plain League announced today that Tri-City outfielder Danny Estrada and Holly Springs pitcher AJ Campbell were named the Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the first week (May 23 – June 1) of the 2024 CPL season. CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.
Estrada, a junior at Frostburg State finished the week with an impressive .487 average, and led the league in both hits (19) and runs scored (11). He recorded a pair of doubles and a triple to go along with six RBIs. Estrada also drew four walks and a hit-by-pitch, while swiping five stolen bases. He had a slugging percentage of .590, an on-base percentage of .545, and a 1.135 OPS.
Meanwhile, Campbell shined on the mound across two appearances, including throwing a complete-game shutout against the Morehead City Marlins in his first outing of the season. Overall, the 6-2, 210-pound right-hander pitched 11 innings, allowing just three hits and walking only one, while striking out nine. He earned a 2-0 record and perfect 0.00 ERA. A junior from Barton College, Campbell also finished the week with a .081 average against him plus a league-best 0.36 WHIP.
