The Coastal Plain League announced today that Jack Harris of Morehead City was named Hitter of the Week, while Jared Drayton of Lexington County earned Pitcher of the Week honors for week eight of the CPL regular season (July 21 – July 27.) CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.

Harris, a junior at San Francisco State, held a scorching .632 batting average across five games and 19 at-bats in week eight for the Marlins. The outfielder notched 12 total hits, including three doubles and three home for 11 RBIs and a 1.263 slugging percentage. Harris also drew two walks to push his on-base to .667 and help him steal three bases while scoring seven runs on the week.

On the mound, Drayton stepped up for the Blowfish in the midst of a second-half championship chase, tossing six scoreless innings versus the Fayetteville SwampDogs on July 24th. In total, the red-shirt senior from Montreat allowed only three hits and walked none while striking out six for a 0.50 WHIP. His performance earned him the win to push his total to 3-1 on the season with a 2.88 ERA across 25 innings pitched.
