The Coastal Plain League has announced the coaches for the 2018 All-Star Show in Lexington, S.C. on July 8-9. The All-Star Event will take place at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium, home of the Lexington County Blowfish.

The head coaches were selected based on the first half standings with Jesse Lancaster of Morehead City set to be the head coach of the American All-Stars as the First Half East Division Champion and best overall record in American Conference, while Tyler Gillum of Savannah will be the head coach of the National All-Stars as the South Division First Half Champion and best overall record in National Conference.

Lancaster helped the Marlins to a 20-5 first-half record and currently leads a team that is first overall in team earned run average at an impressive 2.19, not surprisingly he has three All-Star pitchers joining him from the Marlins – including the overall leading vote-getter Kenny Wells (Seton Hill.) He will be assisted by Hank Morgan of the Peninsula Pilots who won the North Division First Half Championship.

For the National All-Stars, Gillum comes in after leading his Bananas to a 19-7 first-half record and currently holding the second best team earned run average at 3.08 while also sitting second overall as a team in batting average at .278. One of his calling cards all season has been putting the pressure on teams, which has his team on a record setting pace as far as stolen bases in a year with 94 already after one half of play. He will be joined in the dugout by Brian Rountree of the High Point-Thomasville HiToms who won the West Division First Half Championship and Marshall McDonald of the host team Lexington County Blowfish.
