DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that Boone outfielder Kenneth McKinley and Peninsula pitcher Luke Slack were honored as the TrackMan CPL Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for Week 4 (June 21-27) of the 2026 season.

McKinley, a redshirt junior outfielder at Saint Bonaventure, finished with a solid .438 average on the week, while leading the league with a 1.250 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.721. Over half of his hits were home runs, which he had four to go with a double, seven runs and eight RBIs. He also drew a walk, stole a base, and had an on-base percentage of .471. Thus far on the summer, McKinley is slashing ..348/.416/.725 with 24 hits — six doubles, one triple, and six homers. He’s scored 18 runs and racked up 12 RBIs while walking five times and sporting an OPS of 1.140.

Over in Hampton, Slack appeared twice in relief for the Pilots, and while he didn’t secure a decision, he did finish with a perfect 0.00 ERA. A graduate student at Murray State, the right-hander pitched a complete five innings of scoreless, hitless baseball, surrendering just one walk, while striking out eight. His 0.20 WHIP was tops in the league, and he also had a K/9 of 14.40. Overall this season, Slake is 0-1 with a 2.35 ERA across 7 2/3 innings. He’s giving up just two earned runs on two hits, walked six and struck out 11 for Peninsula.
