The Coastal Plain League announced today that Mason Miller of Savannah was named Hitter of the Week, while Sean Hunley of Forest City earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the abbreviated first week of CPL action (May 31 – June 2.)

Miller, a junior at Georgia Southern, went on a tear during the Bananas first three games of 2018, notching seven hits in 15 at-bats for a .467 batting average. Batting at the top of the lineup, Miller proved he could do more than set the table as he drove in five runs on the week and finished with a .500 on-base percentage and .733 slugging percentage. He also showed off his speed posting two triples across three games to go along with one stolen base and five runs scored.

Meanwhile on the mound, Hunley was dominant for the Owls in his first start of the season versus Martinsville on June 1. The Tennessee freshman tossed tossed five scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out eight. His command was also on display as he did not walk a single batter and threw 49 of 72 pitches for strikes, all helping him finish with a 14.40 K/9 and 0.20 WHIP.
