
DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that Peninsula’s Reece Moody and Florence’s Blake Holshouser were named the TrackMan CPL Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for Week 1 (May 28-June 6) of the 2026 season.
Moody has quickly cemented himself in the Peninsula lineup. A sophomore from James Madison, he slashed .448/.556/.828 on the week and tied the league-high in runs scored with 11. In total, he had 13 hits, four walks, a pair of doubles, three home runs, and six RBIs. Moody also swiped six bags and was hit three times on his way to finishing the week tied for the highest OPS at 1.383.
Meanwhile, the 6-2, 165-pound Holshouser made two appearances out of the bullpen for the Flamingos, finishing the week with a perfect 0.00 ERA. He pitched six complete innings overall, allowing just a single hit, while walking none and striking out 11. A rising senior right-hander from Florida Tech, he also led the league with a WHIP of 0.17, while holding opposing batters to a lousy .050 average against him and sporting a K/9 of 16.500.
