The Coastal Plain League announced today that Hogan Windish of the High Point-Thomasville HiToms was named Hitter of the Week, while Zach Cable of the Savannah Bananas earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the sixth week of the CPL regular season (August 3 – August 9.) CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.

Windish, a sophomore at UNC Greensboro, finished off his impressive summer with a .500 batting average across three games and 12 at-bats. The utility player finished with six total hits with two doubles, two home runs and four RBIs for a .571 on-base percentage and 1.167 slugging. Windish also drew two walks on his way to scoring six runs to push his season total to a league leading .462 batting average and 37 RBIs.

On the mound, Cable has been a dominant force at the backend of the bullpen for Savannah all season and week six was no exception. The Oklahoma State junior made two appearances, totaling 2 1/3 innings pitched in which he allowed only one hit, no walks and no runs while striking out six batters for a 20.25 strikeout per nine and 0.45 WHIP. Cable has spent the entire 2020 CPL season atop the league’s Trackman data ratings for pitch velocity, topping out at 98.2 MPH.
