Chad Sedio (Miami Ohio) Edenton
Sedio added to his already impressive resume this summer with the Steamers, notching a .480 batting average in six games on the week. Standing at 6-2, 205, Sedio was a force at the plate collecting 12 total hits, including five doubles and one home run for a .800 slugging percentage. He also showed patience, drawing two walks to push his on-base percentage to .519 which helped him come around to score eight runs for the Steamers. Sedio currently sits second in the league in overall batting average at .399 and first in both home runs (11) and RBI (40).
David Bednar (Lafayette College) Edenton
Meanwhile, Bednar also played a large role in the Steamers success in week nine on the mound. The sophomore out of Lafayette College was about as dominant as a pitcher can be earning the win versus Petersburg on July 23. Bednar did not allow a hit over five shut-out innings showing extreme focus in striking out 10 of the 15 batters he faced on the night for a 0.20 WHIP to go along with his perfect 0.00 opponent’s batting average.
