The Coastal Plain League announced today that Kyle Battle of the Peninsulva Pilots was named Hitter of the Week, while Mitch Myers of the Wilson Tobs earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the fourth week of the CPL regular season (July 20 – July 26.) CPL Players of the Week are brought to you by Trackman Baseball, providing players and coaches next-generation analytical data all season long.

Battle, a senior at Old Dominion, was swinging a torch in week four for the Pilots with a .522 average across six games and 23 at-bats. The 6-1 outfielder notched 12 total hits with three double and three RBIs to push his on-base percentage to .520 and his slugging to .652 for the week. He also drew one walk and scored seven runs, helped along by going a perfect four-for-four on stolen bases.

On the mound, Myers put together an impressive start versus Martinsville on July 23 that was only stopped when a rain delay forced him out of the game. Even so the Pittsburgh junior’s four innings of shutout work, while allowing only one hit and striking out seven, were enough to earn Pitcher of the Week honors. His night ended with a 0.50 WHIP and 15.75 K/9 to push his season numbers to a 3.48 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 10 1/3 total innings.
