The Coastal Plain League is excited to announce the 2018 All-CPL First and Second teams. Each team features 25 players: one player per each infield position, four designated hitter/utility players, five outfielders, seven starting pitchers and four relief pitchers.
The team is highlighted by CPL Hitter of the Year Autin Pharr of High Point-Thomasville, and Pitcher of the Year Christian Scafidi of Holly Springs. Joining them are a number of standout talents, evident by eleven CPL Players of the Week. Those include Myles Christian (HP-Thomasville, Week 2), Kenny Wells (Morehead City, Week 2), Peyton Isaacson (Holly Springs, Week 4), Riley King (Macon, Week 5), Austin Pharr (HP-Thomasville, Week 6), Zane Harris (Edenton, Week 7), Kristopher Kuhn (Florence, Week 7), Addison Domingo (Martinsville, Week 8), Christian Scafidi (Holly Springs, Week 9), Kendall McGowan (Forest City, Week 10) and Ben Anderson (Edenton, Week 10.)
Also making the team were multiple category leaders: batting average (Chase Dawson, .395), runs batted in (Austin Pharr, 49), slugging percentage (Austin Pharr, .742) on-base percentage (Kendall McGowan / Jonathan Embry, .480), runs scored (Derek Perry, 46), hits (Chase Dawson, 66), doubles (Kendall McGowan, 20), triples (Justin Dirden / Matt Kelly, 5), home runs (Myles Christian, 18 – set CPL All-Time mark), walks (Jonathan Embry, 40) earned run average (Zach Keenan, 0.63), batters struck out (Redmond Walsh, 75), innings pitched (Kristopher Kuhn, 56.1), and saves (Kenny Wells, 9).
