Former Martinsville Mustang, Tayler Saucedo, made his Major League debut June 17 for the Toronto Blue Jays. Saucedo entered the game in relief in the fifth inning, pitching a scoreless inning of no-hit baseball with one strikeout in the Blue Jays 8-4 loss to the New York Yankees.

The Honolulu, Hawaii native was drafted in the 21st round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Blue Jays out of Tennessee Wesleyan University. The left-hander spent six seasons in the minors, accumulating a 4.30 ERA across 521 innings pitched and146 games played. With the Blue Jays in need of fresh arms, Saucedo got the call and ended up making his debut just one-day before his 28th birthday.

Saucedo played for the Mustangs during the 2013 season, finishing with a 5.05 ERA across 35 2/3 innings pitched and eight games played. His debut marks the 144th all-time former CPL player to make their major league debut and the fifth of the 2021 MLB season. This debut also pushes the Mustangs major league alumni total to 6.
