The Coastal Plain League announced today that Riley King of Macon was named Hitter of the Week, while Blake Schriever of Fayetteville earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the fifth week of CPL action (June 24 – June 30.)

King, a red-shirt freshman at Georgia, hit a clean .450 on the week across five games and 20 total at-bats for the Bacon. The recently named 2018 CPL All-Star notched two doubles, one home run and six RBI on the week for a .429 on-base percentage and .700 slugging. King also stole one base on one attempt and scored three runs for the Bacon, who won five of six games this week.

Another 2018 All-Star selection, Schriever, was dominant on the mound for the SwampDogs in his outing on June 26 versus the Holly Springs Salamanders. The redshirt-freshman at Cal State Northridge, went nine complete not allowing a run and giving up only three hits while walking three and striking out 11 for a 0.66 WHIP and .100 opponent’s batting average. He, along with King, will take part in the 2018 CPL All-Star Show festivities July 8-9 in Lexington, S.C.
