HOLLY SPRINGS, NC – The Coastal Plain League is well represented across 2024 Spring Training rosters as a league-best 88 alums are participating.

Out of the 30 Major League teams, 27 of them have at least one former CPL player in either the Cactus or Grapefruit Leagues. The American League accounted for 55 players with all teams featuring at least one CPL alum, while the other 33 alums were spread across the National League with the only exceptions being Arizona, Miami and the Chicago Cubs. Both the Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox had the most CPL alums with six apiece. Meanwhile, three clubs – Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Kansas City – were next with five each.

Twelve of the CPL’s current 15 clubs and another six former CPL teams were represented. The High Point-Thomasville HiToms led the way with 10 former players, followed by Morehead City with eight. Lexington County and Peninsula both tallied seven alums, while Florence, Forest City and Holly Springs each had six. Martinsville, Wilmington, and Wilson each notched five. A pair from Asheboro are participating and one from Macon. Rounding things out were former CPL teams Savannah (8), Edenton (8), Fayetteville (4), Gastonia (2), Petersburg (2) and Outer Banks (1).
