DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) recognized the Martinsville Mustangs this afternoon for having the Stream of the Year for the 2025 season.

The production team of three included Riley Trapp as the Broadcaster and Broadcast Director, Danielle Wentz as their sideline reporter, and Ty Hairston as producer. Trapp and Hairston returned to the club after a successful 2024 campaign that saw Trapp earn Broadcaster of the Year honors. And while Trapp continued his professional manner of calling games in 2025, the team as a whole had their eye on competing more for the honor of having the best stream in the league.

“The Mustangs are thrilled to receive the Stream of the Year award from the CPL,” commented Trapp, a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism. “The Martinsville community has rallied around the team like no other, and we are incredibly thankful for their support. It’s because of their support we were able to construct a state of the art press box and broadcast system. We added Danielle Wentz as our sideline reporter, who gave fans special insight with live interviews with coaches and players during the game. Ty Hairston returned as the producer, switching between four live cameras to give fans the feeling as if they were in the crowd with the Stang Gang. The Mustangs are incredibly honored to receive this recognition. We look forward to building towards the future in Martinsville, and serving the best fans in the CPL.”

Fans commented that it was easy to tell the stream was done professionally and they appreciated the multiple angles they got consistently throughout each home game. They also applauded the incorporation of Wentz, a grad student at South Carolina, this season that allowed for some extra commentary, but also the benefit of sideline interviews that brought the coach and players more into the broadcast overall. In addition to the positive feedback from fans and others across the league, Martinsville also received high marks from FloSports, who is the streaming partner of the CPL.

“As an organization, we could not be more proud of Riley, Danielle, and Ty,” said Jason Davis, Team President. “They have made a meaningful impact not just in the booth, but throughout the entire Martinsville Mustangs community. Their dedication and knowledge clearly shined through and earning Stream of the Year is no small feat. Thank you to the Coastal Plain League and the fans for this honor, and a heartfelt congratulations to the Mustangs faithful!”
