DURHAM, NC – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that Mason Reising of Martinsville and Danny Thompson of Morehead City were selected as the TrackMan CPL Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for Week 3 (June 15-June 21) of the 2025 season.
Reising, a redshirt freshman from Charleston Southern, finished the week with a .533 average, including being tied for the most hits on the week with eight. He also led the league with a .933 slugging percentage. Of his eight hits, three were doubles and another for a home run. Reising scored two runs, racked up 10 RBIs, walked once, was hit three times, and stole a bag. He also featured an on-base percentage of .632 and OPS of 1.565 on the week. On the season, the Mustangs catcher is slashing .378/.517/.689 with five doubles, three dingers, nine runs scored and 19 RBIs — fifth-best in the league.
On the bump, Thompson made four appearances out of the bullpen for 4 1/3 innings of work. In that time, he gave up just one hit, walked two, and struck out 10 to earn a pair of saves. The redshirt senior from UNC Greensboro also kept opposing batters to a .077 average against him, while sporting a WHIP of 0.69 and a K/9 of 20.769 on the week. So far in 2025, the 6-0, 185-pound right-hander is 0-1 with two saves and a 6.75 ERA. He’s pitched a total of eight innings in relief, surrendering seven runs — six earned — on six hits, walked eight and struck out an impressive 17.
