The Coastal Plain League has announced Victoria Conway of the Edenton Steamers as the 2019 Coastal Plain League Broadcaster of the Year. This was Conway’s first season with the Steamers and the CPL.

“It is a tremendous honor to be named CPL Broadcaster of the Year,” said Conway. “I can’t thank the Edenton Steamers enough for the opportunity to be with them this summer as well as the town of Edenton that welcomed me with open arms on day one. Lastly, I want to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support.”

Conway earned this honor by displaying next-level knowledge of the game and articulating it on-air with the utmost professionalism throughout the season. Her work included broadcasting all Edenton home games via the cplbaseball.tv live stream, as well as conducting interviews with players and team personnel to produce nightly game recaps. League officials and fans also noted how active she was outside of the booth each night, producing and posting interviews, games, features and more with players and coaches on the teams social media pages to give the team true 360 coverage.

A number of items go into selecting a Broadcaster of the Year with the fan vote accounting for 50 percent of that consideration. Conway received the largest percentage of votes of any broadcaster, with fans referencing her preparation and work ethic to provide fresh, current and relevant information night in and night. Fans noted her ability to immerse viewers into the game, both Steamer fans and fans of the opposing teams tuning in consistently commented on how insightful Conway’s broadcasts were and how they learned something new each night.

Conway graduated with a degree in Journalism in 2019 from Hofstra University before working as the Steamers Director of Media and Broadcasting for the 2019 summer. She has accepted a job with IMG Learfield, where she will work as the in-studio host and producer for all Tulane Green Wave football and Men’s Basketball games.
