DURHAM, NC – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that Boone’s Davin Whitaker and Wilmington’s Thomas Paxton were selected as the TrackMan CPL Hitter and Pitcher of the Week respectively for Week 4 (June 22-June 28) of the 2025 season.

On the week, Whitaker batted .526 through five games. Of his 10 hits, four were doubles, while he also scored four runs and eight RBIs, which was tied for the most in the league. The East Carolina outfielder also walked three times, while racking up a slugging percentage of .737 to go with a .609 on-base percentage and 1.346 OPS. Whitaker is slashing .327/.424/.490 thus far this season for the Bigfoots. He has 16 hits, including five doubles and a home run, with seven walks. His resume also shows nine runs, 16 RBIs, and two stolen bags.

Meanwhile, Paxton was essentially perfect on the week for the Sharks. The 6-3, 205-pound right-hander pitched two innings across two appearances and picked up a pair of saves to go with his 0.00 ERA. He didn’t allow a hit nor a walk and struck out three. He sported a K/9 of 13.500 while rocking a 0.00 WHIP. Transferring to East Carolina for the 2025-26 season, Paxton is currently 1-0 with a perfect 0.00 ERA this summer and leads the CPL with five saves. He has given up one unearned run on just two hits, walked two and struck out 12 in nine innings.
