DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Plain League (CPL) honored the Wilson pair of Anthony Pasquale and Katelyn Byrnes as its 2025 Broadcasters of the Year this afternoon.
“Both Anthony and Katelyn exemplified what it means to be a Tob, both on and off the broadcast,” said Wilson Director of Marketing Griffin Myers. “The amount of praise I’ve received on their behalf, from host families, viewers, and player families has been overwhelming. They brought an energy and edge to our broadcast that we’ve never had before, and I can’t think of two people more deserving of this award.”
The duo were credited with being very knowledgable about the game, as well as the two teams playing each night. Fans also noted how they interacted well with one another, were entertaining and hyped the audience from the comfort of their homes. One fan perhaps best summed up the job they did by commenting that Anthony and Katelyn “brought a level of enthusiasm and passion to each game that was contagious.”
“It was an absolute honor to be the soundtrack of the most successful summer in Tobs history,” said Pasquale, a graduate of the University of Illinois. “The team made my job easy, but getting to voice Wilson’s Championship win is something I’ll never forget. Huge thank you to GM Mike Bell, Griffin Myers, Graphic Designer Charlie Dickson and the entire Tobs organization for trusting us with the keys to the booth and Katelyn for being an amazing broadcast partner. Tobs Roll!”
Overall, it was clear that fans enjoyed Pasquale and Byrnes nightly broadcasts, and relied on them to be the soundtrack to the storybook season that ultimately saw the Wilson Tobs earn their first ever CPL Championship.
“I’m happy to say that Tobs Nation got their Petitt Cup and I got to be apart of it during such a historic year,” commented Byrnes, who is a Sport Management student at NC State. “Spending my summer in Wilson alongside such a great staff and team was an experience I will always cherish. Thank you Mike, Griffin, and Charlie for helping me, and Anthony to earn the honors of the best booth in the league!”
